"Crypter" - Graphic Design Project

This project allowed me to better understand a creative process, especially the search for form, colors... But also the importance of iteration before looking for a final shape...

Short Presentation

This project was very important for me because it was presented to a jury and selected by the latter among 7 other projects.
I was the Artistic Director, my team and I had as specifications: "To make feel the notion of crypter or camouflage" and write down the different streams of the high school. 
The poster validated and selected will be the official poster of the open house of the high school as well as the next notebooks and cards of high school students...

Short Presentation

Our first mission was to find a way to make this notion of "cryptic" felt. So we experimented and iterated a lot to find something impactful and logical.
First we decided to try to play with the colors and the order of the letters.

After several tries and researches around different encryption languages, we decided to play with layer sheets. Write the main parts of a letter on one in black and the other part of the letter in another color on another layer.
Once the layers were overlaid the word was readable.
We had just created our way of coding and encrypting an alphabet.

All we had to do was find a shape and a way to put the different information on the poster. 
So we started iterating again, leaving room for white and margins in order to have a clean and readable rendering although "encrypted".

Afterwards, we decided to change the color of the letters because our first version in red symbolized too much something raw and making too much propaganda poster

As promised, the selected group will see its graphic charter reused for goodies such as the school booklet and the student card.
